Change for the better.

We are hard at work improving our communities both on and off campus. JCSU’s President Ronald L. Carter has built partnerships with the neighborhoods around campus and organizations throughout the city, state and nation to further JCSU’s vision of a better environment for our students, faculty and neighbors.

With initiatives on campus and in the community, JCSU is an active partner in creating positive change in Charlotte.

Campus Upgrades:

• Student Union: Recent renovations of the Student Union have brought new life to the Bull Pen with a Burger King, Red Mangos, Pool tables, large screen TV lounges and more.
• Dorms (Residence Halls): Campus living is getting better all the time as we continue to upgrade and build new facilities for our current and future student residents.
• New Science Center

Building a better community off campus.

JCSU has active partnerships with city leaders and area developers to improve the neighborhoods around the university and strengthen our connections to other parts of the city. Here are just a few areas where JCSU is playing an important role in our community’s development:

Bringing business back to the Historic West End Neighborhood.

• The Arts Factory, JCSU’s first off-campus academic building, opened on West Trade in October 2010.
• Plans for student housing and a bookstore on West Trade are planned for the near future.
• Mosaic Village, off campus student housing opened in October 2012.
